Oranjemund is indeed blessed to have a number of excellent and unspoilt campsite. Locals camp at the beach, along the river mouth, next to the lower Orange River, between the Golf Course and the water and then down at Hohenfels campsite.

There are no established facilities to camp in these spots.

Camping along the beach an be a terrible experience if the wind is blowing.

If you camp along the sandbar on the Orange River mouth, like the local midnight fishermen do, be careful of the high tide.
